London & Country to start selling HSBC mortgages

HSBC is launching a fresh assault on into the broker market by making its mortgage range available through London & Country Mortgages from next week.

This follows its successful trial partnership with Countrywide last October.

HSBC will offer its full residential mortgage range through the broker, with deals available up to 90% LTV.

Head of mortgages Tracie Pearce said: “This is an exciting time for HSBC and we look forward to working closely with London & Country.

“It is entirely due to our successful partnership with Countrywide which has enabled us to extend our relationship to London & Country, and we’re committed to continuing to build on this as we welcome new broker partners.”

David Hollingworth at London & Country said it added up to a compelling proposition.

“Given the appetite of HSBC, the successful completion of this next phase should pave the way for a broadening of access to other members of Legal & General’s distribution.”

Jeremy Duncombe, director of the Legal and General Mortgage Club, welcomed HSBC's products being added to brokers’ portfolios. 

"This will help advisers to offer a greater range of products to their clients and suggest a deal that best suits their needs.”

HSBC has also cut rates on 26 mortgages by up to 0.4% and is launching competitive new deals at 90% LTV.

The range will include a two-year fixed rate charging 1.69% up to 70% LTV, reduced from 1.74%.
