TMA Club has unveiled an online platform containing useful guides, infographics and FAQs regarding the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) changes ahead of the May 25 deadline.
Tailored to advisers, the ‘GDPR Knowledge Base’ includes practical advice from TMA’s compliance team, a number of important checklists and links to information as outlined by the Information Commissioner’s Office.
With this online resource, the firm aims to educate advisers on important regulatory changes taking place this year.
Set to replace the current Data Protection Act 1998, the GDPR will bring data protection legislation in line with how data is being stored, used and shared in the modern age. All ‘controllers’ and ‘processors’ of data must be GDPR-compliant to ensure personal data is processed lawfully, transparently and for a specific purpose.
“At TMA we know regulatory changes can be challenging and even a little intimidating,” said Lisa Martin, development director at TMA.
“The GDPR is the next significant regulatory change that directly authorised intermediaries will face so, to help guide them through the new landscape, we have created our exclusive GDPR Knowledge Base.”
She added: “We are certain the information contained within the Knowledge Base will be of great use to our members as we continue to support them through what is set to be another year of complex regulatory change.”
